D.C. United defender Ethan White has undergone surgery on his right knee and will be sidelined for about six weeks.

United said Wednesday that White has a meniscus repair in the knee and should fully recover. White played in 24 games with 21 starts last year in his rookie season with United.

Chelsea overturned a two-goal deficit from the first leg against Napoli to power into the Champions League quarterfinals, winning a thrilling match 4-1 after extra time on Wednesday to eliminate Napoli 5-4 on aggregate. Real Madrid also moved on as Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in a 4-1 victory over CSKA Moscow.
