Police mum on probe of baby’s stabbing death
The investigation into the killing of a baby stabbed while in his mother’s womb is continuing, said D.C. police, who declined to provide details on any possible suspects in the attack.
The pregnant woman was attacked in the middle of the night inside her Southeast apartment and stabbed in the stomach on March 22. She was taken to a hospital, where the child was delivered.
The death of the child, whom she named Kuron Rashad Hunt, was ruled a homicide last week, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The boy died from a stab wound to his torso, police said.
Neighbors who lived in apartments in the 4200 block of Ninth Street Southeast were awakened by the woman’s screams the night she was attacked. They said she told them that a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt came into her apartment and stabbed her once in the stomach but fled after she began to scream.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry. Residents said the front door to the apartment building is always locked at night.
