Man gets three years for Logan Circle robbery
A D.C. man was sentenced Thursday to more than three years in prison after pleading guilty to robbing two men who were eating outside a Logan Circle pizza restaurant.
James Edward Wade, 30, was sentenced in D.C. Superior Court. Prosecutors said Wade approached the victims around 9:20 p.m. on May 17 outside Pizzoli’s Pizzeria in Logan Circle and was brandishing what appeared to be a handgun. The victims turned over property, and Wade fled.
Police posted a video of the robbery on YouTube and said Wade’s arrest followed tips from the public. Wade pleaded guilty to the crime in September.
Wade’s attorney did not immediately respond to a telephone message left Thursday.
As survey work wraps up, removal of the scaffolding around the Washington Monument has begun.
