Guilty lawmaker asks judge for vacation before sentencing
Former D.C. Council member Michael A. Brown is asking a federal judge to let him take one last vacation before he goes to prison.
Brown pleaded guilty to bribery in June. He admitted that he took $55,000 from undercover FBI agents posing as businessmen seeking D.C. government contracts.
Prosecutors agreed to recommend a maximum three-year sentence.
Brown is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 16. Before that, he would like to take a family trip to Florida from Dec.
