Police hand out flyers in postal worker slaying
Prince George’s County police on Monday were handing out flyers with the smiling face of a U.S. Postal Service worker who was fatally shot while delivering mail, but they’re saying little about the circumstances of his death.
Police haven’t released any information about suspects or a possible motive in the slaying of Tyson Barnette, 26, of Upper Marlboro. He was found shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday in a residential neighborhood.
The Postal Service said Mr. Barnette had worked for the agency for six years and that slayings of active-duty postal workers are rare. The Postal Service is offering a $100,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment, along with the $25,000 being offered by Crime Solvers.
