Illini foot­ball staffer charged af­ter point­ing gun out of truck

UR­BANA, ILL. | Au­thor­i­ties say Univer­sity of Illi­nois foot­ball staff mem­ber and for­mer player Matt Sin­clair has been charged af­ter al­legedly point­ing an un­loaded hand­gun at a ve­hi­cle car­ry­ing other staff mem­bers.

Cham­paign County State’s At­tor­ney Ju­lia Ri­etz says Sin­clair was ar­raigned Mon­day on two felony counts of un­law­ful use of a weapon. He was ar­rested Satur­day af­ter Illi­nois’ game at Pur­due.

Oudin has writ­ten on her Twit­ter feed that her “off sea­son is a lit­tle paused at the mo­ment” be­cause of the ail­ment, called rhab­domy­ol­y­sis, and she is “do­ing ev­ery­thing pos­si­ble for a speedy” re­cov­ery.

Her agent, Sam Du­vall, con­firmed to the AP that Oudin sent the tweets.

Oudin, who turned 22 in Septem­ber, is ranked 129th. At 17, she pulled off a se­ries of up­sets to reach the U.S. Open’s fi­nal eight.
