Report: Redskins sign linebacker Moody
According to Pro Football Talk, the Washington Redskins signed linebacker Nick Moody on Tuesday.
Moody, 26, most recently played for the Seattle Seahawks in the 2015 season, participating in just three games. Drafted with the 180th-overall pick in the 2013 draft by the San Francisco 49ers, Moody’s most productive season came in 2014, when he participated in all 16 games, including two as the 49ers’ starting linebacker. Moody recorded 16 tackles that year. As an unrestricted free agent this year, Moody was suspended for the first four games of the season this year for violating the NFL’s drug policy. An arrest warrant was also issued for Moody earlier this year for failing to show up to court to testify against former teammate Aldon Smith in his DUI and fleeing the scene of an accident charges he faced in April. The arrest warrant was dropped after a week once Moody appeared in court.
Redskins linebacker Will Compton is dealing with a posterior cruciate ligament, while linebacker Su’a Cravens is dealing with a brachialis strain, an injury to the deep muscle located between his bicep and elbow. Both players are “week-to-week,” according to Redskins coach Jay Gruden.
