BEST BETS

The Washington Times Daily - - TELEVISION -

Hell’s Kitchen / 8:00pm (5) Successful cooking involves the right balance of ingredients — and that even goes for the number of chefs on a team, as the new episode “Dancing in the Grotto” bears out. To keep the squads even, one contestant moves from one to the other. Guest judges decide who wins a slider-making competition, sending that group to a party at the Playboy Mansion. Melissa Rivers and “Property Brothers” hosts Drew and Jonathan Scott are present for the dinner service.

Dr. Ken / 8:31pm (7) Allison’s (Suzy Nakamura) desire to stage the holiday office party at home meets with a cool response from Ken (Ken Jeong) in the new episode “A Park Family Christmas.” Clark (Jonathan Slavin) finds himself upstaged when he tries to get boyfriend Connor (guest star Stephen Guarino) the ideal gift.

Shark Tank / 9:00pm (7) Paleo is pure poetry — at least for an innovator from Reno, Nevada, who uses verse in his pitch to sell his food-preparation idea to the Sharks — in this episode. A Louisiana father and son suggest their high-tech idea for catching fish hooks. A Seattle woman proposes a method for hanging art, and a Miami man shows how to convert a suit jacket into a tuxedo. The Sharks here are Mark Cuban, Kevin O’Leary, Daymond John, Lori Greiner and Robert Herjavec.

The Exorcist / 9:02pm (5) As it’s gone along, this series has revealed the connection Angela Rance (Geena Davis) has to the original William Peter Blatty story — and the devil is determined to succeed this time as the drama’s season concludes with “Chapter Ten: Three Years.” Father Marcus and Father Tomas (Ben Daniels, Alfonso Herrera) are the only hopes for Angela and her family, but the threat facing the visiting Pope (guest star Bruce Davison) has their attention divided.

Geena Davis stars in “The Exorcist” Friday on Fox. MOVIES
