Char­lotte Joan Poli­tano, 86, passed away at home on De­cem­ber 12, 2016 in Clin­ton, MD. Char­lotte was born on April 29, 1930 in Sul­li­van, In­di­ana to the late Leo Phillips and Helen Cush­man Phillips.

Char­lotte re­tired at the rank of Ma­jor in the United States Air Force - serv­ing her time as a nurse. Fol­low­ing her time in the USAF, she con­tin­ued to work as a nurse and most of all en­joyed her vol­un­teer work as an Ar­ling­ton Lady, Red Cross Vol­un­teer with work­ing Me­di­vac at An­drews (in­clud­ing Sun­day evening, 11 DEC16), and with the Ac­co­keek Foun­da­tion Na­tional Colo­nial Farm.

Char­lotte is sur­vived by her Hus­band of 52 years, Den­nis A. Poli­tano, Daugh­ter, Ja­nine A. Stier, Son in Law Paul, her Brother, Robert Phillips, Sis­ter in Law Lenore Quick, and beloved nieces and neph­ews.

A view­ing will take place on Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 21, 2016 from 3 pm – 5pm, im­me­di­ately fol­lowed by a time of re­mem­brance at 5pm-6pm, at the Lee Fu­neral Home. 6633 Old Alexan­dria Ferry Road, Clin­ton, MD 20735. In­ter­ment will be in the early spring at Ar­ling­ton Na­tional Ceme­tery.
