Trump names Jason Greenblatt top international negotiator
President-elect Donald Trump officially announced Tuesday the appointment of Jason Greenblatt, a top Trump Organization executive, to be Mr. Trump’s special representative for international negotiations.
Mr. Trump called Mr. Greenblatt, executive vice president and chief legal officer of the Trump Organization, one of his “closest and most trusted advisers.”
“He has a history of negotiating substantial, complex transactions on my behalf, as well as the expertise to bring parties together and build consensus on difficult and sensitive topics,” Mr. Trump said.
Mr. Trump said Mr. Greenblatt’s role will entail “assisting on international negotiations of all types, and trade deals around the world.”
Mr. Greenblatt, who was also one of Mr. Trump’s top advisers on U.S.-Israeli relations during the campaign, said it’s “an exceptional honor” to join Mr. Trump and his team.
“My philosophy, in both business and in life, is that bringing people together and working to unite, rather than to divide, is the strongest path to success,” Mr. Greenblatt said.
