3 North­ern Vir­ginia teens ar­rested for se­ries of ar­sons

Three teenagers have been ar­rested af­ter au­thor­i­ties say they ad­mit­ted to start­ing mul­ti­ple fires in two north­ern Vir­ginia coun­ties.

A 17-year-old and 18-year-old Samuel Perkins and An­thony Coach­man were ar­rested Satur­day dur­ing a traf­fic stop in Culpeper.

The sus­pects were charged with mul­ti­ple of­fenses in­clud­ing felony ar­son and con­spir­acy to com­mit ar­son in Culpeper County. Of­fi­cials say they’ll face charges in Fauquier County.

Fauquier Sher­iff Sgt. James Hart­man said the two-day se­ries of ar­son be­gan Fri­day when deputies re­sponded to a barn fire. On the same night, of­fi­cers re­sponded to two ad­di­tional fires.

Au­thor­i­ties said one of the sus­pects was declared a per­son of in­ter­est af­ter a wit­ness pro­vided a de­scrip­tion of their ve­hi­cle.
