San Bernardino shooter had threatened his estranged wife
SAN BERNARDINO | The man who opened fire in a San Bernardino school Monday was a pastor and Navy veteran who accused his estranged wife of infidelity.
When he failed in efforts to win her back, he went to her classroom and fatally shot her and one of the special needs children she taught, police said Tuesday. In the preceding weeks, Karen Smith told family members, her husband, Cedric Anderson, tried to get her to return home and threatened her.
But she did not share information about her marital problems with colleagues, police said.
“She effectively kept her private life private,” San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said.
