Illegals’ crime rate 100 percent
This week Attorney General Jeff Sessions directed 94 U.S. attorneys to enforce human-smuggling laws, as well as identity-theft-related and Social-Security-related fraud. (The chief actuary of the Social Security Administration has said that some 75 percent of working illegal aliens use false Social Security numbers).
When it came to illegals, heretofore both the Bush administration and (more egregiously) the Obama administration had all but stopped enforcement of laws regarding Social Security fraud, income-tax evasion, perjury, identity theft and human smuggling. The Obama administration even ordered the Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents not to pursue investigations into criminal organizations that produce false government identity documents used by illegals.
Too often mainstream media falsely leads Americans to believe that illegal aliens in this country commit crimes at a lower rate than nativeborn Americans. According to the CATO Institute, this “fact” is derived solely from incarceration statistics. Criminal justice scholars have long known that incarceration rates do not mirror crime rates and are not indicative of crime rates. Committing a crime and being caught, prosecuted convicted and incarcerated does not account for those people who commit crimes and are not held accountable.
Even though all illegal aliens commit immigration crimes (100 percent), some 85 percent of them also commit tax evasion, and about 25 percent commit identity theft. Yet they have not been prosecuted because to have done so has recently been deemed politically incorrect. Some 300 sanctuary cities and their lawenforcement agencies refuse to arrest these law-breakers for anything but violent felonies. Thus incarceration statistics have little or no bearing on the true crime rates of illegal aliens in this country.
