Himes says Russia probe ‘back on track’

Rep. James A. Himes on Monday said the House intelligence committee’s investigation of Russian involvement in the 2016 campaign is “back on track.”

“I think we’re all happy on the committee that things seem to be back on track,” Mr. Himes, Connecticut Democrat, said on CNN’s “New Day.”

He said he thinks Rep. K. Michael Conaway’s replacing Rep. Devin Nunes as the head of the investigation would take some of the scrutiny off of the committee.

“I think we’re back on track,” Mr. Himes said, saying both parties have put together a witness list.

Mr. Nunes, California Republican and chairman of the intelligence committee, recently announced he was stepping aside from leading the Russia probe amid ongoing ethics complaints.
