THE NRA CON­VEN­TION: ON TAR­GET

Thurs­day is open­ing day for the Na­tional Ri­fle As­so­ci­a­tion’s an­nual grand meet­ing in At­lanta, which in­cludes a cav­al­cade of notable guests in the next 72 hours, in­clud­ing Pres­i­dent Trump, White House coun­selor Kellyanne Con­way and Hank Williams Jr. The event is as­ton­ish­ing in scope: More than 80,000 peo­ple are ex­pected to at­tend, along with 800 ex­hibitors rang­ing from ma­jor man­u­fac­tur­ers and sup­pli­ers to The Her­itage Foun­da­tion and the Na­tional Muz­zle Load­ing Ri­fle As­so­ci­a­tion.

Thurs­day’s open­ing events will be capped off with the Na­tional NRA Foun­da­tion Ban­quet, a char­i­ta­ble event that in­cludes a fine din­ner plus a mul­ti­tude of ac­tiv­i­ties, all in sup­port of shoot­ing sports.

“Help us teach free­dom by bid­ding on cus­tom firearms, unique mer­chan­dise and spe­cial­ized hunts,” the or­ga­niz­ers ad­vise.
