Police investigating racist graffiti on James’ home

The Washington Times Daily - - SPORTS - SPORTS BRIEFS

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating graffiti left on NBA star LeBron James‘ home Wednesday morning as a potential hate crime.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals will have a racial charge to it on Thursday due to an epithet left on the L.A. home of Mr. James. The Cleveland Cavaliers will take on the Golden State Warriors in a highly anticipated NBA Finals rubber match.

“Someone spray painted the n-word on the front gate and detectives are now investigating,” TMZ reported Wednesday after hearing from its LAPD sources.

The entertainment website also posted a slideshow with cops and patrol cars outside the player’s residence, which was purchased in 2015.

Authorities are looking at security footage provided by neighbors to glean information on a suspect.

James and his team bounced back from a 3-1 deficit to the Warriors last year to become the league’s champions.
