Pride parade bars gay Trump backers
North Carolina members of Gays for Trump are considering legal action after they were prohibited from participating in the upcoming “Charlotte Pride” festival and parade.
Brian Talbert said his group shouldn’t be vilified for supporting the president at the Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade, Aug. 26-27.
“We wanted to show that we weren’t the racist, bigot, misogynist whatevers,” he told the local Fox affiliate. “We wanted to show that we are Americans, love our country and our president. We wanted to be there to celebrate gay pride.”
A Charlotte Pride spokesperson said the organization reserves the right to deny applications from groups that “do not reflect the mission, vision and values of our organization,” a local Fox affiliate reported.
