Gays for Trump leader blasts gay group’s ‘snowflake fury’
The president of Gays for Trump says hypocrisy and “snowflake fury” of LGBT groups such as Charlotte Pride are being exposed by their selective parade bans since the 2016 U.S. election.
Peter Boykin, president of Gays for Trump, said politics are behind the recent decision by Charlotte Pride to deny Deplorable-Pride from participating in its August parade. He called in to radio host Doc Thompson’s “The Morning Blaze” show Friday to spotlight what he claims is ideological ostracism.
“It’s the same community that sits there and wants to complain about not getting served at certain places, you know?” Mr. Boykin told the host. “Meanwhile, they turn around and the hypocrisy is they don’t want [rightleaning groups] served in queer spaces because we don’t match their exact way of what they believe in.”
Charlotte Pride, which advocates for gay rights in North Carolina and South Carolina, issued a statement Wednesday saying it “reserves the right” to deny any group that does not “reflect the mission.”
