2 men hit by train in were from Penn­syl­va­nia and Mary­land

The vic­tims of a train accident out­side Union Sta­tion were from Penn­syl­va­nia and Mary­land.

The two men who died were CSX freight train con­duc­tors who got out of their train late Tues­day to check out an alert that there was a prob­lem with one or more of their train’s wheels.

They died when they were struck by an Am­trak pas­sen­ger train.

On Thurs­day, po­lice iden­ti­fied them as Stephen Deal, 20, of Mey­ers­dale, Penn­syl­va­nia, and Jake Lafave, 25, of Cum­ber­land, Mary­land.
