Trump signs law that will aid wounded Capitol Police officers

The Washington Times Daily - - METRO - — S.A. Miller

President Trump on Friday signed into law the Wounded Officers Recovery Act, allowing the U.S. Capitol Police Memorial Fund to provide financial assistance to Capitol Police officers injured in the line of duty.

The bill would extend aid to officers David Bailey and Crystal Griner, who were injured when a gunman opened fire in June on Republican lawmakers at a charity baseball practice.

The fund previously provided financial assistance only to the families of officers killed in the line of duty.
