Resetting the foreign policy agenda

This must be supported by experts who are knowlegable about the Islamist threat

The Washington Times Daily - - COMMENTARY - By James A. Lyons

The Trump administration with a new chief of staff, Gen. John Kelly, has a unique opportunity to reset its agenda and fulfill its campaign promises. The firing of Anthony Scaramucci as White House communications director by the new chief of staff, was a step in the right direction. Clearly, the next order of business must be a purge of all Obama holdover “undercover agents” from not only the National Security Council (NSC) but from all government agencies.

This must include the Department of State and Department of Defense, as well as all intelligence agencies. Equally important is their replacement with experienced, knowledgeable experts. Once this is accomplished, I am sure the president will no longer be

receiving “position /strategy” papers that Iran is in compliance with the Obama administration’s disastrous nuclear agreement with Iran.

Next, there must be a purge of the Muslim Brotherhood stealth operatives and ‘fellow travelers’ from all government national security and intelligence agencies as well as among congressional staffers. Actually, the Muslim Brotherhood has had a determined program to penetrate all U.S. government agencies for well over 50 years.

There is no question the Muslim Brotherhood should be designated a subversive organization. There are many reasons why they should be so designated. However, the president only needs to look at one, their determination to destroy America from within and replace the Constitution with the seventh century Islamic Shariah law.

The Department of Justice must revisit the 2008 Holy Land Foundation Hamas terror financing trial. Even though the statute of limitations on that trial’s charges has now expired, all the background data is still valid. After the trial, The Muslim Brotherhood completely changed the way it operates inside the U.S. — they now employ dozens of top lawyers to ensure they are operating within U.S. law — no more cash from or to bad guy terror groups — and still they manage a subversive agenda, because we are blind to their objectives and have an open society.

It will fully justify designating the Muslim Brotherhood along with their two major front organizations, Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), with subversive activity.

Both were unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation Trial, yet to this day, they still have far too easy entre to our government agencies and senior officials. Whenever there is an act of Islamic terror in the United States, the first group too many officials, federal and local, turns to is CAIR. Mindboggling. The Muslim Brotherhood and its front groups have been designated as international terrorist organizations by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Russia.

There clearly is a lack of in-depth knowledge in the administration not only about the threat of Islam itself but also the threat from the Muslim Brotherhood, which is the vanguard of the global Islamic movement inside the U.S. Until it is understood that Islam is a totalitarian ideology, bent on world domination masquerading as a religion, we will not be successful in defeating this threat. It affects all our Middle East strategy as well as domestic policy regarding the Islamist movement.

The Trump administration needs to bring in experts who can address this dilemma and help remove all Muslim Brotherhood influence from our government agencies and rewrite our training manuals that were purged by the Muslim Brotherhood — which was allowed to demand removal of anything linking Islam with terrorism. Our military and law enforcement agencies need those training manuals corrected so that they can understand the enemy they are fighting.

The criminality of our government agencies also must be exposed. Our warriors did not pay the ultimate price so that elected and appointed officials could conduct criminal and illegal acts and not be held accountable. That includes Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of State. Questions still surround the Uranium One deal that turned over 20 percent of our uranium deposits to a Russian owned company.

The Clinton Foundation received over $140 million from the Canadian businessmen who sold their company, which held those uranium reserves, to the Russians. Hillary’s State Department was one of the key agencies that had to sign off on the deal.

The “Pay to Play” Clinton Foundation cannot be given a pass. Separately, there was the transfer of our technology to the Skolkovo project, Mr. Putin’s version of “Silicon Valley” disregarding all warnings from the FBI that such a technology transfer would only enhance Russian military capabilities. Russia didn’t need industrial espionage, we were giving them our technology. Unbelievable.

We cannot overlook “Fast and Furious” or the IRS scandals either. Why hasn’t the IRS Commissioner, John Koskinen been replaced? Of course, we cannot overlook the tragedy of Benghazi. Why has none of these clearly criminal acts resulted in criminal prosecutions? We are not a Third World country. We are the gold standard. Our Constitution is not for sale. They must be held accountable.

Clearly, Mr. Trump needs to appoint a “truth commission” to expose all the illegal activity. It is all part of making America great again. It also must be done to serve as a lesson to future political leaders that they will be held accountable.
