Dozens of students evaluated for bee stings at high school

The Washington Times Daily - - METRO -

More than 30 students at a Gaithersburg high school have been evaluated for possible bee stings.

The incident happened shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday at Quince Orchard High School. It was not immediately clear where the bees came from. Montgomery County Fire spokesman Pete Piringer said crews were looking for the source of the bees, but believe they came from a hive that was off-campus.

A total of 32 students were evaluated, but only three were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Fire officials said they received reports that some students may have had allergic reactions to the bees.
