Police: Men in capsized boat on Potomac were brothers
Authorities have identified two brothers who died after their small boat capsized on the Potomac River.
The Department of Natural Resources Police in Maryland identified them Monday as Fermin Alvarado, 45, and Matias Alvarado-Arrue, 31. Both lived in Woodbridge.
Their bodies have been taken to the medical examiner’s office in Baltimore for autopsies.
Their 15-foot bass boat capsized Sunday afternoon about a mile south of Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge. Coast Guard officials said a tugboat crew saw the boat capsize but could not locate the men in time. The water was 47 degrees.
