Border control

The Washington Times Weekly - - Letters To The Editor -

Our undefended borders are costing our country billions of dollars each year and destroying the economy of our border states . We have no idea how many extremists have been coming across our border with the intent to do us harm . In order to solve our border problems I suggest the following:

1. Secure our borders; with the military or increased number of the National Guard if necessary.

2. Require everyone to have a tamper proof picture ID in order to vote, work or get government benefits.

3. Amend the 14th amendment of the Constitution to require that at least one parent must be a U.S. citizen in order for a person born in this country to be a U.S. citizen.

4. Have a guest worker program, but only if the 14th amendment is amended as shown above.Otherwisetheywouldbringtheirwives or girlfriends and they would have kids here that would be automatically U.S. citizens . Hank Vanderwende Palm Beach Gardens , Florida
