Your editorial in the Jan. 8 edition (“Senators shouldhaveshownthemthemoney”)regarding the National Republican Senatorial Committee anditsuse, orrather, misuseofcampaignfunds, neglected another side of this issue.
OneoftheproblemswiththeNRSCistheuse ofitsfundsagainstRepublicans. Mostofuswho contribute to the RNC, the NRSC, or the NRCC have thought that our funds would be used against Democrats. That was incorrect! They haveusedsubstantialpartoftheirfundsagainst conservative Republicans in the primaries.
Oneexamplewasthattheyspentmoneyrunning ads against Steve Laffey in Rhode Island. This fine conservative was running against RINO Lincoln Chafee in the primary. Many of uswhosupportthegreatRepublicanprinciples of lower taxes, fiscal responsibility, limited governmentandastrongnationaldefensehavebeen greatly disappointed by their lack of integrity whenitcomestousingthecampaignfunds. We willonlysupportthemwhentheypledgetonever use Republican money against Republicans.
