Read and then act

The Washington Times Weekly - - Letters To The Editor -

Your letters to the editor, the Aug. 13 edition especially, prove just as interesting as regular copy. They display a pretty clear picture of conservative (moderate and harder line) disenchantment with our government. With pork out of control, with the immigration problem getting uglier (terrorists allied with drug cartels) and Pat Buchanan as cheerful as an undertaker, this is easy to understand.

Perhaps it is time we all accepted the responsibility that comes with freedom and tried to do something about it. After all, we are we the people. It is time we stopped being mesmerized by Lindsay Lohan and Brittany Spears. It is time we ignored mainstream media attempts to pacify while slipping an elitist agenda past us. If reasonable people do not get involved, there really is no hope. Wayne G. Skaggs Wimberley, Texas
