Character trumps experience
Last night, as I was watching a program about Ronald Reagan, it dawned on me: Other than being an actor, all Ronald Reagan brought to the Oval Office was the fact he had been the governor of a state. Yet, with no more foreign experience than that, he ended the Cold War without firing a shot. Pretty good for not having any foreign experience.
