This is what they call progress

The Washington Times Weekly - - Letters To The Editor -

We shouldn’t be surprised that President Obama has extended certain federal benefits to homosexual couples. After all, the Democrats have a long history of catering to various morally challenged special interest groups (e.g., pro-abortion people).

Lest we forget, here are some of the consequences of the Democrats’ successful efforts to impose liberal, extreme, morally relativistic values on this society: a high divorce rate, a high out-ofwedlock birthrate, a high teen suicide rate, a high teen drug use rate, a high child abuse rate, over 49 million abortions since 1973, a sexual revolution which has normalized promiscuity (sexual exploitation) and given rise to an epidemic of sexually transmitted diseases, the intellectual debasement of education and culture, censorship in the media and higher education, fatherless homes and the feminization of poverty, children giving birth to children, gang-banging children murdering children, and the destruction of the black family.

If we let government facilitate if not actually subsidize unethical behavior, do we really believe that will make society a better place? Let’s progress not regress. Wayne Lela Woodridge Illinois
