Re: “Justice examines why case closed on Black Panthers” in the Sept. 14 edition (page 3), I found it incredible that President Obama’s Justice Department and U.S. Attorney Gen. Eric H. Holder decided to not prosecute the three racist New Black Panther Party members who were dressed in uniform, carrying weapons, and verbally intimidating and shouting vile racist slurs at voters at a Philadelphia polling station.
This is not just a miscarriage of justice, it’s a blatant racist decision. Consider a hypothetical. Three white racists are videotaped dressed in KKK sheets or Nazi uniforms, carrying weapons outside a black polling station, and are shouting vile racist insults and threats at voters, and the Bush administration pooh-poohs the whole mess and tells everybody to just forget about it.
