Re: “Jus­tice ex­am­ines why case closed on Black Pan­thers” in the Sept. 14 edi­tion (page 3), I found it in­cred­i­ble that Pres­i­dent Obama’s Jus­tice Depart­ment and U.S. At­tor­ney Gen. Eric H. Holder de­cided to not pros­e­cute the three racist New Black Pan­ther Party mem­bers who were dressed in uni­form, car­ry­ing weapons, and ver­bally in­tim­i­dat­ing and shout­ing vile racist slurs at vot­ers at a Philadel­phia polling sta­tion.

This is not just a mis­car­riage of jus­tice, it’s a bla­tant racist de­ci­sion. Con­sider a hy­po­thet­i­cal. Three white racists are video­taped dressed in KKK sheets or Nazi uni­forms, car­ry­ing weapons out­side a black polling sta­tion, and are shout­ing vile racist in­sults and threats at vot­ers, and the Bush ad­min­is­tra­tion pooh-poohs the whole mess and tells ev­ery­body to just for­get about it.
