Don’t count on us ever getting out of this black hole

The Washington Times Weekly - - Letters To The Editor -

The following illustrates, in stark perspective, our $14.3 trillion debt. If in our wildest dreams, the government were to pay back our national debt over a period of 10 years and made equal daily payments, the payout would be a staggering $3,833,253,473 per day.

That’s nearly four billion dollars per day for 10 years — with no interest counted in.

Our country is broke. Do the math: 14,000,000,000,000.3 / 3,652.25 days = 3,833,253,473 Shocking, isn’t it ? There is no intention to pay this back. The borrowing, the spending, the inflation and ever-rising taxes will go on and on — along with the lies. Sherm Talbot Elkton, Oregon
