Sugar Creek Model Railroad Club will host the 14th annual Great NWA Model Train Show at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center in Springdale from 9 a.m.to 4 p.m. Kids (and kids at heart) can be the engineer as miniature locomotive­s chug around the tracks on elaboratel­y designed layouts. All types of model trains, from large garden trains to trains small enough to run on a coffee table, will be on display. Collectors can shop for new and vintage toy trains and parts from more than 40 vendors. Hot dogs, popcorn and other treats will also be for sale. Door prizes will be given away, including two round-trip tickets on the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad. Admission is just $8 for adults and free for children 12 and younger. Bring a nonperisha­ble food item to receive $1 off admission. All proceeds go to local charities, including Samaritan Snackpacks for Kids, the Children’s Advocacy Center, Toys for Tots, the Salvation Army Angel Tree and Shelter, Havenwood Home, Hope Cancer Resources/Washington Regional Cancer and Support Home, Cancer Relay for Life and the Bella Vista Library. The Sugar Creek Model Railroad Club and Historical Society is a nonprofit organizati­on. All work is done by volunteers. The club operates events to raise money for local charities and creates model train displays for various museums and organizati­ons, including Frisco Fest, the Gravette Historical Museum, Rogers Historical Museum and the Nomad Shriners.

Friday, March 3

Knights of Columbus present the 25th annual Lenten Fish Fry at St. Bernard Catholic Church. The Social Hall opens at 5 p.m., and serving begins at 6. They will serve catfish, potato salad, coleslaw, hush puppies, dessert and drinks. The cost is $10 per person. Tickets are necessary and can be purchased at St. Bernard Catholic Church office, 1 St. Bernard Lane, Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. or at the church’s Social Hall from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Sundays.

People with Parkinson’s Disease and their caregivers are invited to attend the Parkinson’s Support Group of Bella Vista from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road, Bella Vista.
