Why so many police cars?

Dear Mayor,

Kudos to you for a fine job thus far.

I’m curious as to why we have such a large police force. Whenever I drive by the police station parking lot, I see as many as 10 marked squads parked. This is Bella Vista, not Chicago.

I suppose that law enforcement information suggests that we need a certain number of police per capita. Again, this is Bella Vista.

Having just read the police reports in the “The Weekly Vista”, I had to laugh at the details. I’m glad to live in Mayberry. Maybe all we really need is Barney Fife and a couple of bullets for his shirt pocket instead of a large number of police and squads doing very little other than removing a snake from someone’s garage.
