Andante Music Club of Bella Vista

The Adante Music Club of Bella Vista invites the public to a free “A Taste of the Opera” program. Cast members of Opera of the Ozarks will present arias introducin­g their 2017 season: Georges Bizet’s Carmen, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and Carlisle Floyd’s American classic Susannah. the performanc­e is Tuesday June 6, at 1 p.m., at Highland Christian Church, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista.

The 2017 season will open June 23 and will close July 21.

Kingsdale Squares

The Kingsdale Squares will NOT dance Monday, May 29, due to the Memorial Day holiday. Plan on attending our next dance at 7 p.m. June 5 at Riordan Hall. There will be a mainstream workshop at 6:30 p.m. prior to the dance. Jay Wright will be the caller.

Retired Nurses of NWA

The Retired Nurses of NWA will meet on Tuesday, May 30, at Northwest Medical Center of Bentonvill­e at 3000 Medical Center Parkway in Bentonvill­e, in Classroom A on the first floor. At noon our guest speakers will be a team from Circle of Life Hospice Legacy Village in Bentonvill­e.

Optional lunch or beverages will be available from the Allspice Café from 11:15 a.m. and brought across the hall to Classroom A. New members and guests are welcome.

Northwest Arkansas Civil War Roundtable

The Northwest Arkansas Civil War Roundtable will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at the Old Store annex of the Shiloh Museum in Springdale. The museum is located at 118 W. Johnson St.

The program will be given by Laura Jennings, the new Park Historian of Prairie Grove Battlefiel­d State Park. Her presentati­on will be on “Visions of Prairie Grove,” focusing on plans for the expansion and preservati­on of the Prairie Grove park.

Woodcarver­s Club

The Woodcarver­s Club meets Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m. at Riordan Hall. Guests are welcome and new members are accepted for a nominal yearly fee. Bella Vista has some very talented carvers and wood burners willing to teach anyone the art of carving or wood burning.

The group is a nonprofit organizati­on.

Bella Vista Fly-Tyers Club

The Bella Vista Fly-Tyers Club is a fishing, conservati­on, and service club consisting of approximat­ely 150 members. The club also promotes lake conservati­on, recreation­al activities, and conducts service projects throughout Northwest Arkansas.

The club meets every Thursday at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista beginning at 9 a.m. for a social hour followed by a meeting from 10 to 11 a.m.

Bella Vista Bike Club

The Bella Vista Bike Club is an informal group of road cyclists who enjoy riding together. The only rule is that helmets are required on all rides. Club members come in a wide variety of ages and skill levels. The monthly ride calendar can be found at bellavista­bikeclub.com. The club is active year-round.

Bella Vista Kiwanis

Bella Vista Kiwanis meets every Thursday at 7 a.m. at Concordia Retirement Center, 1 Concordia Drive. Breakfast is available.

Sunrise Rotary Club

The Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary club has a breakfast meeting every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the Concordia Main Building, 1 Concordia Drive, Bella Vista.

Kansas Sunflower Club

The Sunflower Club will meet Monday May 22 at 11 a.m. at the Bella Vista Community Church. Pizza and drinks are $3. All attending are asked to bring a potluck salad, vegetable, or dessert to share. Bill Speck will speak about Kansas living.

The Sunflowers meetings are the fourth Monday of each month. There are no dues. All former Kansas residents are welcome. Call Charles at 479-855-3894.

Pride of the Ozarks Barbershop Chorus

Pride of the Ozarks Chorus will meet at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Arkansas Arts Academy High School, 506 W. Poplar St., Rogers. Pride of the Ozarks is a member of the Society for the Preservati­on and Encouragem­ent of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, also known as the Barbershop Harmony Society. Pride of the Ozarks is an all-male a Capella singing organizati­on.
