Food Pantry gets help in a snap
A few weeks ago a very special neighbor was found on the drive headed to the Shepherd’s Food Pantry at Bella Vista Lutheran Church.
He was warmly greeted by most of the staff on duty. Being as unique as he was — we think it was a “he” — it demanded a photo opportunity.
Elaine Schurman recognized him immediately as an alligator snapper and confirmed it with her phone. In spite of his formidable name, he allowed John Peschek to pick him up.
Unfortunately, the photo does not show his “alligator” shell for which he was named. After his extensive “interview,” he was set back into the adjoining woods with the hope that if “he” was a “she,” she would be headed in the right direction for her egg-laying time if that were the case.
He was given some green vegetables to help him/her on her way.
Indeed the Shepherd’s Food Pantry welcomes all our neighbors who are in need of help.
