Gerald Duane Kincaid, 74, died of mesothelioma on July 31, 2017, at the Circle of Life Hospice Care Facility in Bentonville, Ark. He was born in Quincy, Ill., June 22, 1943, to Elsa “Joker” Kincaid and Mildred (nee) Smith.
He enlisted in the Navy, proudly serving for three years as a machinist’s mate on the USS Du Pont (DD-941) during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the search for the Thresher (SSN-593). He worked in the construction industry, becoming a top sales and service representative for Caterpillar in the Ozarks and was well-known for his work in the development and expansion of the infrastructure of Northwest Arkansas through the ’80s and ’90s.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda (nee) Bohannan; his two children; and four grandchildren.
