Ger­ald Duane Kin­caid, 74, died of mesothe­lioma on July 31, 2017, at the Cir­cle of Life Hospice Care Fa­cil­ity in Ben­tonville, Ark. He was born in Quincy, Ill., June 22, 1943, to Elsa “Joker” Kin­caid and Mil­dred (nee) Smith.

He en­listed in the Navy, proudly serv­ing for three years as a ma­chin­ist’s mate on the USS Du Pont (DD-941) dur­ing the Cuban Mis­sile Cri­sis and the search for the Thresher (SSN-593). He worked in the con­struc­tion in­dus­try, be­com­ing a top sales and ser­vice rep­re­sen­ta­tive for Cater­pil­lar in the Ozarks and was well-known for his work in the de­vel­op­ment and ex­pan­sion of the in­fra­struc­ture of North­west Arkansas through the ’80s and ’90s.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 30 years, Linda (nee) Bo­han­nan; his two chil­dren; and four grand­chil­dren.
