Li­brary Foun­da­tion Wine Pull

The Bella Vista Pub­lic Li­brary Foun­da­tion is host­ing a Wine Pull from 7 to 9 p.m. on Satur­day, Sept. 9. Tick­ets are $25 and ev­ery­one will go home with at least one bot­tle of wine. No wine will be served on the premises. At­ten­dees will en­joy an evening filled with hor d’oeu­vres, live mu­sic, a silent auc­tion and more. Ev­ery­one will be given a num­bered mys­tery cork which will en­ti­tle them to a cor­re­spond­ing bot­tle of wine. Come en­joy a won­der­ful night out and help us raise money for our ex­pan­sion. Tick­ets are on sale now at the li­brary. Must be 21 or older.

Local au­thor showcase

The Bella Vista Pub­lic Li­brary will be host­ing an­other Local Au­thor Showcase from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Satur­day, Sept. 16. Authors who are in­ter­ested in par­tic­i­pat­ing should con­tact the li­brary at 479-8551753. This is a won­der­ful op­por­tu­nity to meet some of the tal­ented authors in our re­gion.

Call­ing all artists

We are cur­rently ac­cept­ing ven­dor ap­pli­ca­tions for our 2017 Dick­ens Christ­mas. Cre­ators of arts and crafts as well as tasty food are invited to ap­ply to be in our first big Christ­mas event. For more in­for­ma­tion, come by the li­brary or visit our web­site www.bvpl.org.

Free­gal Mu­sic

The li­brary has Free­gal Mu­sic. This ser­vice, avail­able through our web­site, al­lows our pa­trons to lis­ten to and down­load mu­sic for free. Us­ing your li­brary card you can ac­cess this ser­vice.

Rocket Lan­guages

We of­fer Rocket Lan­guages through our web­site. This lan­guage learn­ing ser­vice of­fers on­line cour­ses for 15 dif­fer­ent lan­guages. All you need is a li­brary card to ac­cess it.

Check out a Kin­dle

Kin­dle Paper­whites and Kin­dle Fires are avail­able for check­out to pa­trons in good stand­ing. Each de­vice is loaded with sev­eral books and may be checked out for three weeks. See li­brary staff for the check-out agree­ment and pro­ce­dure.

En­core Books

The Friends of the Li­brary’s used-book store is open six days a week dur­ing reg­u­lar li­brary hours. Every­day low pric­ing on hard­backs, DVDs, puz­zles, chil­dren’s books, pa­per­backs, bi­ogra­phies, health and well­ness top­ics, and much, much more. All pro­ceeds of this on­go­ing fundraiser sup­port the li­brary. New books are added al­most daily.

BVPL Mo­bile

The Bella Vista Pub­lic Li­brary now has an app. Eas­ily look up books, events, and other li­brary info right from the palm of your hand. Down­load BVPL Mo­bile for Ap­ple and An­droid de­vices.

Face­book

Bella Vista Li­brary is on Face­book. Click on the Face­book icon on our web­site, www.bvpl.org, and “Like” us today. It’s a great way to keep up with all the events at the li­brary.

Flo­ral ar­range­ment

Au­gust’s flo­ral ar­range­ment was de­signed and pro­vided by Geri Ho­erner of the Bella Vista Gar­den Club. Each month, a mem­ber of the Bella Vista Gar­den Club cre­ates an orig­i­nal flo­ral de­sign to be dis­played for pa­tron en­joy­ment.

Hours of op­er­a­tion

Reg­u­lar li­brary hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mon­day through Thurs­day, with week­end hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fri­day and Satur­day. The Bella Vista Pub­lic Li­brary is lo­cated just east of Town Cen­ter off Lan­cashire Boule­vard, (Arkansas High­way 340 east) at 11 Dick­ens Place.
