Lau­re­ate Al­pha Gamma

The monthly meet­ing of Lau­re­ate Al­pha Gamma of Beta Sigma Phi met on Wed­nes­day, Nov. 8 at the home of An­nette All­sup with Sally Tryon act­ing as co-host­ess. The pro­gram was given by Lori Lan­g­ley. The ser­vice pro­ject for the month was non-per­ish­able items for the Bella Vista Food Bank and items were brought by all mem­bers. The so­cial for the month was brunch at Lake­point restau­rant on Sun­day, Nov. 12.

Ne­braska Club

The Ne­braska Club of north­west Arkansas has an­nounced plans for their an­nual Christ­mas Party. The event will be held Satur­day, Dec. 2 at Sim­ple Plea­sures Event Cen­ter, 13718 Rot­tbury Drive in Bella Vista. The so­cial hour be­gins at 5 p.m. fol­lowed by a buf­fet din­ner fea­tur­ing chicken and beef brisket at 6 p.m. The event is open to all for­mer Ne­braskans.

Sons of Amer­i­can Revo­lu­tion

The McKis­sic Chap­ter of the Sons of Amer­i­can Revo­lu­tion will meet in the church chapel at 10 a.m. Satur­day, Nov. 18, at the Methodist Church on 20 Boyce Drive in Bella Vista. The SAR State Pres­i­dent Les Magee will re­port on his work vis­it­ing the state chap­ters.

Cal­ico Cut-Ups

There will be no meet­ing of the Bella Vista Cal­ico Cut-Ups quilt guild for Novem­ber. Our next sched­uled meet­ing is a Christ­mas lun­cheon at 11 a.m. Dec. 11. The lun­cheon will held at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista. The cost is $5 for mem­bers and $10 for non-mem­bers. Tick­ets should be pur­chased by Dec. 1.

Ozark Hill Hik­ers

The Ozark Hill Hik­ers, af­fil­i­ated with the AVA, in­vite all in­ter­ested walk­ers to join us for a 5K or 10K walk in his­toric Fort Smith, Ark. on Satur­day, Nov. 11. Reg­is­tra­tion is at 10 a.m. at the Ex­ec­u­tive Inn, 700 Rogers, Fort Smith.

Sun­rise Ro­tary Club

The Bella Vista Sun­rise Ro­tary Club has a break­fast meet­ing at 7 a.m. ev­ery Wed­nes­day in the Con­cor­dia Main Build­ing, 1 Con­cor­dia Drive, Bella Vista. Bella Vista Women’s Cho­rus

Bella Vista Women’s Cho­rus in­vites singers from the Tri-County area to join them. All are wel­come with no try­outs or ex­pe­ri­ence needed. The cho­rus per­forms clas­si­cal, pop, folk and show tunes for lo­cal clubs and events. Re­hearsals are Mon­days at 12:45 p.m. in the mu­sic room of Bella Vista First United Methodist Church. The cho­rus is avail­able to sing for clubs and events.

Per­fect Har­mony Women’s Bar­ber­shop Cho­rus meets ev­ery Mon­day from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the choir room of the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista. Di­rec­tor Karen Franken­feld, will find a part that fits ev­ery voice. No pre­vi­ous ex­pe­ri­ence or try outs are re­quired.

Fly-Ty­ers Club

The Fly-Ty­ers Club meet­ings are ev­ery Thurs­day at Rior­dan Hall, be­gin­ning at 9 a.m. for a so­cial hour fol­lowed by a meet­ing from 10 to 11 a.m. The club is a fish­ing, con­ser­va­tion, and ser­vice or­ga­ni­za­tion con­sist­ing of ap­prox­i­mately 150 mem­bers. This group of men and women share a com­mon in­ter­est in fish­ing (both warm and cold-wa­ter species) found in the lo­cal streams and lakes of Bella Vista. The club also pro­motes lake con­ser­va­tion, recre­ational ac­tiv­i­ties, and con­ducts ser­vice projects through­out north­west Arkansas.

Al­trusa In­ter­na­tional

Al­trusa In­ter­na­tional of Ben­tonville/Bella Vista meet at the River Grill in Ben­tonville at 11:30 a.m. on the first and third Tues­days of the month. We are an in­ter­na­tional women’s or­ga­ni­za­tion whose fo­cus is chil­dren’s lit­er­acy. Please join us, all are al­ways wel­come.

Pride of the Ozarks Bar­ber­shop Cho­rus

The Pride of the Ozarks Bar­ber­shop Cho­rus meets from 7 to 9 p.m. ev­ery Thurs­day at In­n­is­free Se­nior Liv­ing Com­mu­nity, 300 In­n­is­free Cir­cle, Rogers, which is one block east on 24th and Wal­nut streets. Males of any age, color or creed who en­joy acapella singing are wel­come and in­vited. Vo­cal mu­sic ex­pe­ri­ence is help­ful. Wood­carvers Club

The Wood­carvers Club is made up of both men and women en­joy­ing the art of carv­ing and py­rog­ra­phy (wood burn­ing). Mem­bers share their tal­ents and ideas in the weekly meet­ings from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thurs­days at Rior­dan Hall. The club is made up of be­gin­ners, in-be­tween to very ex­pe­ri­enced carvers. The club has a li­brary of carv­ing books and for those need­ing ideas. Come by and visit and per­haps join for a nom­i­nal yearly fee. The Bella Vista Wood­carvers Club is a non­profit or­ga­ni­za­tion and has 48 mem­bers to date and grow­ing.
