▲ Hobbs State Park offers eagle watch cruises, sunset cruises, and special dinner cruises and, for the first time, is teaming up with the Northwest Arkansas Audubon Society for two November loon cruises. The last loon cruise will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Rocky Branch Marina. This is an adult-only tour and the cost is $10 per adult (13 and up). ▲ The Bella Vista Historical Museum will host a “Living History of World War I” in recognition of the 100th anniversary this year of the U.S. entering that war, led by museum docent Tim Wicks, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18. The men will represent several countries while they explain and demonstrate their equipment. A temporary exhibit about the war is on display now at the museum through the end of November. ▲ Dutch Oven Workshop at Hobbs State Park — Participants will learn how to care for cast iron and cook a three-course meal to enjoy together. Participants will also receive a Dutch Oven Cooking guidebook. The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, and cost $40, plus tax, per person, with pre-payment and registration required. ▲ Wishing Spring Gallery will host a Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the studio behind the gallery, at 8852 W. McKnelly Road in Bella Vista. Lots of Christmas items, handmade by local exhibitors, will be available.
▲ The Plaza Senior Independent Living Cooperative at 1 Highlands Crossing Drive, is having an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19. ▲ “Different Strokes/Different Folks” Stroke and Traumatic Brain Injury Support Group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd. in Bella Vista. The next meeting will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28. All stroke or traumatic brain injury survivors, their families, friends and caregivers are welcome to attend. ▲ The 29th Annual Cookie Walk, sponsored by Highlands Church will take place Saturday, Dec. 2, at the church, 371 Glasgow Road in Bella Vista. Doors open at 8 a.m. and the “walk” begins at 8:30 a.m. It will last until all the cookies are gone. Also of interest is a Coffee Shoppe, Sweet Shoppe and Hand-made Crafts for holiday gift giving. The cost per can is $12. First come, first served, and there are no pre-orders. All money raised will go to support local and regional charities.
