The May meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 21 and it will be a Birthday Party. Everyone has a birthday and Calico Cut-Ups will celebrate all of them. Birthday cake and ice cream will be served at 11:30 a.m. prior to the 1 p.m. speaker, Betty O'Neill, with a presentation called, “A New Quilter's Lament.” She has been quilting many years and has many stories and quilts to share. Betty has generously decided to give many of her unfinished quilt tops and some kits to the guild. There will be a silent auction on this day for those items. All of the monies will be donated to the guild or to a part of the guild that you designate, such as our scholarship fund, Quilts of Valor, donation quilts, etc. Everyone is invited.
Calico Cut-Ups is a quilt guild of Bella Vista. It is an informational meeting for all levels of quilters — beginners to expert. Attending the guild is a good way to begin quilting or increase your knowledge of quilting and a good way to meet new people. The guild usually meets the fourth Monday of each month at the First United Methodist Church located at 20 Boyce Drive in Bella Vista. The meeting begins at 1 p.m. and sometimes there is a workshop before the meeting. There is a $5 fee that helps pay for the speaker. That can be applied to a $25 yearly fee if you become a guild member. For more information send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
