Unity of the Ozarks

The com­mu­nity is in­vited to Wed­nes­day night med­i­ta­tion class, 7 to 8:30 p.m. weekly. This class ex­plores a va­ri­ety of med­i­ta­tion tech­niques. On Sept. 26, Kelly McDow­ell presents “En­ergy Field Med­i­ta­tions to Find Your Dual­is­tic Be­liefs.”

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

In a month ded­i­cated to fight­ing hunger in North­west Arkansas, Bella Vista Lutheran Church Shep­herd’s Food Pantry — open each Fri­day from 10 a.m. to noon — does its part to sup­ply food for some of the 63,000 per­sons who face hunger ev­ery day. Do­na­tions from the gen­er­ous are wel­come and cur­rently in­clude jelly, sugar-free gelatin and heart-healthy soup.

In­ter­est is grow­ing for an up­com­ing Se­nior Safety Academy from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tues­day, Oct. 9. De­tails are pro­vided at 479-8550272 and sign ups for the free event are sought at 1990 For­est Hills Blvd.

Vil­lage Bi­ble Church

Pas­tor Mark Voll will con­tinue his ser­mon se­ries ti­tled “Suf­fi­ciency In Christ.” This Sun­day’s ser­mon is ti­tled “A Study in Colos­sians — Part 4” with a text of Colos­sians 2:6-15.

Mem­bers of the Women’s Min­istry will host a “Fruit of the Spirit Tea” at 11 a.m. Satur­day, Oct. 6. Guest speaker will be Pat Otte. This is an English-style buf­fet with hol­i­day gar­nishee and nap­kin fold­ing demon­stra­tion. The com­mu­nity is wel­come and encouraged to bring a friend to ex­pe­ri­ence the “spirit.” To re­serve a seat, sign up in the Fel­low­ship Hall at Vil­lage Bi­ble Church lo­cated at 1591 For­est Hills Blvd. in Bella Vista or call 479-876-5764.

The Women’s Book Club’s next meet­ing is 10 a.m. Thurs­day, Sept. 27, in the church par­lor. This club boasts a dif­fer­ent type of book club in that ev­ery­one chooses a book around a theme, rather than read­ing the same book. The Septem­ber theme is a book by M.C. Beaton. The Oct. 25 club meet­ing theme will be a book on the PBS Great Amer­i­can Read list. All Bella Vista read­ers are wel­come.

Bella Vista Com­mu­nity Church

BVCC’s Women’s Bi­ble Study, a seven-week se­ries ti­tled Miss­ing Pieces: Real Hope When Life Doesn’t Make Sense by Jen­nifer Roth­schild, be­gins on Thurs­day, Oct. 4 with two time choices: 9:3011:30 a.m. or 6-8 p.m. in room 8-9. Cost is $13. Please call the church of­fice to sign up.

BVCC will host the A-MAZE-ING Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wed­nes­day, Oct. 31. Nav­i­gate your way through a maze of ex­cit­ing themed trunks. There will be plenty of candy along the way.

Bella Vista Assem­bly of God

Bella Vista Assem­bly of God will host the third an­nual NWA Chris­tian Fel­low­ship Trap Shoot and BBQ on Satur­day, Sept. 29, at the Bella Vista Trap and Skeet Range, 16301 Rocky Dell Hol­low Road in Gravette. This year, there will be an adult di­vi­sion (ages 19 and older) and a youth di­vi­sion (ages 18 and younger), and teams will con­sist of three mem­bers. Churches are encouraged to send more than one team, and all first-time shoot­ers are in­vited. Event sign-in and regis­tra­tion be­gins at 8 a.m. The cost to reg­is­ter is $35 per per­son to in­clude cof­fee and Krispy Kreme dough­nuts, range fees and am­mu­ni­tion, and a catered bar­be­cue lunch by Rhythm & Q.
