The community is invited to Wednesday night meditation class, 7 to 8:30 p.m. weekly. This class explores a variety of meditation techniques. On Sept. 26, Kelly McDowell presents “Energy Field Meditations to Find Your Dualistic Beliefs.”
Bella Vista Lutheran Church
In a month dedicated to fighting hunger in Northwest Arkansas, Bella Vista Lutheran Church Shepherd’s Food Pantry — open each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon — does its part to supply food for some of the 63,000 persons who face hunger every day. Donations from the generous are welcome and currently include jelly, sugar-free gelatin and heart-healthy soup.
Interest is growing for an upcoming Senior Safety Academy from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Details are provided at 479-8550272 and sign ups for the free event are sought at 1990 Forest Hills Blvd.
Village Bible Church
Pastor Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled “Sufficiency In Christ.” This Sunday’s sermon is titled “A Study in Colossians — Part 4” with a text of Colossians 2:6-15.
Members of the Women’s Ministry will host a “Fruit of the Spirit Tea” at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. Guest speaker will be Pat Otte. This is an English-style buffet with holiday garnishee and napkin folding demonstration. Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista
The Women’s Book Club’s next meeting is 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in the church parlor. This club boasts a different type of book club in that everyone chooses a book around a theme, rather than reading the same book. The September theme is a book by M.C. Beaton. The Oct. 25 club meeting theme will be a book on the PBS Great American Read list. All Bella Vista readers are welcome.
Bella Vista Community Church
BVCC’s Women’s Bible Study, a seven-week series titled Missing Pieces: Real Hope When Life Doesn’t Make Sense by Jennifer Rothschild, begins on Thursday, Oct. 4 with two time choices: 9:3011:30 a.m. or 6-8 p.m. in room 8-9. Cost is $13. Please call the church office to sign up.
BVCC will host the A-MAZE-ING Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. Navigate your way through a maze of exciting themed trunks. There will be plenty of candy along the way.
Bella Vista Assembly of God
Bella Vista Assembly of God will host the third annual NWA Christian Fellowship Trap Shoot and BBQ on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Bella Vista Trap and Skeet Range, 16301 Rocky Dell Hollow Road in Gravette. This year, there will be an adult division (ages 19 and older) and a youth division (ages 18 and younger), and teams will consist of three members. Churches are encouraged to send more than one team, and all first-time shooters are invited. Event sign-in and registration begins at 8 a.m. The cost to register is $35 per person to include coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts, range fees and ammunition, and a catered barbecue lunch by Rhythm & Q. Early registration forms and fees may be mailed to or dropped off at the BVAG church office no later than Thursday, Sept. 19. The Bella Vista Community Church’s Trick or Trunk event in 2017 was a crowd-pleaser. The 2018 A-MAZE-ING Trick or Trunk will be held in the church parking lot from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31.
