Arkansas Urban Forestry Council sets workshop
The Arkansas Urban Forestry Council is sponsoring a workshop to benefit arborists, community planners, and landscape design professionals, as well as interested citizens and homeowners. The workshop will be from 8:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1021 W. Sycamore St. in Fayetteville. Attendees will learn about starting a community orchard and its benefits. Information on appropriate site selection, variety selection, establishment. and controlling pests and diseases will be provided.
Included in the workshop experience are a tour of Tri Cycle Farms and a fruit tree pruning demonstration.
Cost of the workshop is $30 for AUFC members and $55 for nonmembers. Registration deadline is Nov. 9. Lunch will be provided.
