Eat­boro cham­ber seek­ing nom­i­nees

The Greater eat­boro Cham­ber of Com­merce will be hold­ing its bi­en­nial Bor­ough Ball Feb. 2P from S to 11 p.m. at the Spring Mill Coun­try Club in Ivy­land.

“In keep­ing with our tra­di­tion, the cham­ber will once again be pre­sent­ing awards for distin­guished ser­vice ren­dered to the Bor­ough of eat­boro that are char­ac­ter­ized by un­selfish de­vo­tion to the wel­fare of oth­ers,” said Robert M. John, cham­ber mem­ber.

The cat­e­gories for the awards in­clude a “Ser­vice to Com­mu­nity,” given to an in­di­vid­ual whose distin­guished ser­vice has en­hanced the qual­ity of life in the bor­ough. The sec­ond cat­e­gory is “Ser­vice to vouth,” an award that rec­og­nizes an in­di­vid­ual who has given distin­guished ser­vice that has af­fected the char­ac­ter devel­op­ment of youth in the bor­ough. The third cat­e­gory is “Ser­vice to Pub­lic,” an award that will be pre­sented to a pub­lic ser­vant Eem­ployee of the bor­ough, or per­son act­ing on be­half of the peo­ple or government of the bor­oughF who has given distin­guished ser­vice en­hanc­ing the qual­ity of pub­lic ser­vices. The fourth cat­e­gory is for “Ser­vice in Busi­ness.” This award is for a busi­ness that has given distin­guished ser­vice im­prov­ing the qual­ity of busi­ness life in the greater eat­boro com­mu­nity.

“Our awards com­mit­tee is cur­rently look­ing for rec­om­men­da­tions from the pub­lic for peo­ple to be rec­og­nized in any of the afore­men­tioned cat­e­gories,” said cham­ber Pres­i­dent Joseph J. Tryon Jr.
