Paul Petrun Sr. of Warminster passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 1T, 2012, surrounded by his family. ee was 8T.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of ST years, Dorothy Petrun; sons, Paul Petrun Jr. and Craig Petrun; daughter, Dorothy Kirkpatrick; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Petrun, Erik Candy, and Emily eolmes; sonin-law, James Kirkpatrick; daughters-in-law, Diane ECovelensF Petrun, and Diane eolmes; sisters-in-law, Joan Bilodeau EDavidF, and Ollie Kurdziel. Other survivors include many close family members, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Paul will be remembered for the deep love and pride he had for his family, his wonderful sense of humor, and his caring nature.
A native of Philadelphia, Paul was born in 192R, as one of two children to Sophie and Andrew Petrun. Paul enlisted in the r.S. kavy his senior year in high school and proudly served in the kavy during World War II. ee was a resident of Warminster for RR years.
ee was a master tool and die makerLmachinist at Bodine Tool & Die Company in Philadelphia and kew Jersey for 4P years.
Paul devoted his life to his family and friends, and really enjoyed playing music. ee was an accomplished musician for more than R0 years, and played the upright bass and banjo as a member of his beloved Ferko String Band for more than P0 years. ee also shared his love of music by entertaining friends at parties, and performing professionally in several bands EDixieland Banjoleers, iawncrest kut Band, Cozey Morley BandF, and in numerous clubs throughout Philadelphia and kew Jersey. Paul could even be heard playing bass on a 4R rpm record made by Cozey Morely EWhen vour Old Wedding Ring Was kew & Bill BaileyF, and on many of the albums recorded by the Ferko String Band in the S0s and T0s.
Mr. Petrun’s family received relatives and friends from S to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at James J. McGhee Funeral eome, S90 Belmont Ave. Southampton. A second visitation will be held, 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the funeral home.
