Hor­sham na­tive re­leases book on celebrity se­crets

cburns@jour­nalregis­ter.com Hor­sham na­tive Chris Gaida has worked for more than a decade as a celebrity red car­pet es­cort. Now, hH’s UHOHDsLQJ hLs fiUsW ERRN WhDW wLOO spill many of Hol­ly­wood’s se­crets, in ad­di­tion to Gaida’s per­sonal en­coun­ters with many of to­day’s top stars.

“I’ve had the most amaz­ing job in the world,” Gaida said. “In the book I re­veal many of the se­crets of awards shows ... and I dish a lit­tle dirt.”

GDLGD’s QRQ­fiFWLRQ ERRN, “$UP CDQdy: A Celebrity Es­cort’s Tales from the Red Car­pet,” will hit the shelves of ma­jor re­tail­ers Jan. 31. In his book, Gaida goes through his ad­ven­tures of han­dling celebri­ties down the red car­pets and through awards shows. In ad­di­tion, he gives tips on party crash­ing; dishes about the di­vas of the busi­ness; DQG UHflHFWs RQ sRPH RI hLs IDYRULWH celebrity en­coun­ters, in­clud­ing Queen Lat­i­fah and Su­san Lucci. Gaida said the 300-page book is meant to be a quick read, with short and en­ter­tain­ing chap­ters that will an­swer many ques­tions about the glam­our and glitz of Hol­ly­wood.

“:LWh WhH GLI­fiFuOW HFRQRPy, , IHHO like a lot of peo­ple have given up hope,” Gaida said. “I want to in­spire peo­ple to go for their dreams. I think peo­ple should just go for it.”

Although Gaida has re­lo­cated from Hor­sham, he said his big­gest in­spi­ra­tions come from his time at Hat­boroHor­sham High School. Teach­ers he had there, Gaida said, pushed him to do more than he thought was pos­si­ble and en­cour­aged him to be him­self. He said many of his teach­ers in­spired him WR hDYH FRQ­fiGHQFH LQ hLPsHOI, sSHFL­fiFDOOy WHDFhHUs -RDQH .DWsLss DQG Cyn­thia Raff, though there are many oth­ers.

“I think be­cause of that it really changed me,” Gaida said. “I got some in­spi­ra­tion and faith in my­self be­cause of my teach­ers.”
