Fire camp set

Hartsville Fire Com­pany No. 1 will once again host its an­nual Fire­fighter Camp for any­one 14 and older who wishes to learn about be­ing a fire­fighter.

The camp will take place Wed­nes­days, July 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the fire­house lo­cated at 1195 vork Road, Warmin­ster.

The pro­gram is a joint ef­fort by all of the fire sta­tions in Warmin­ster and War­ring­ton to in­tro­duce young peo­ple to the fire ser­vice. Par­tic­i­pants will learn hose rolls, car­ries and pack­ing, fire hy­drant op­er­a­tions, fire ex­tin­guisher op­er­a­tions, del­uge gun op­er­a­tions, self-con­tained breath­ing ap­pa­ra­tus, pump con­nec­tions and many other ba­sic skills.

This hands-on pro­gram will teach in­di­vid­ual skills as well as team skills. The fi­nal night of the pro­gram will fea­ture a sim­u­lated fire with all at­ten­dees re­spond­ing on a fire truck.
