hath­leen Marie (nee Mul­doon) Vantine died on Wed­nes­day, June 12, 2013, of res­pi­ra­tory fail­ure at UCSF Hos­pi­tal in San Fran­cisco, Calif. She had fam­ily by her side and passed peace­fully. hathy’s loss will put a gi­ant hole in the life of her fam­ily and friends who loved her for her car­ing warmth, up­beat per­son­al­ity and avail­abil­ity to dis­cuss any is­sue, large or small.

hathy was born in Philadel­phia, the sec­ond daugh­ter of Peg and Tom Mul­doon. Un­for­tu­nately, hathy lost her fa­ther at an early age; she was raised in a loving home by her mother and grand­mother and sur­rounded by an ex­tended, car­ing fam­ily. She at­tended St. James Parochial drade School, Mel­rose Acad­emy, and Holy Fam­ily Col­lege, grad­u­at­ing in 1969 with a de­gree in English.

hathy met her hus­band Harry (Chip) at a dance class in sev­enth grade. They be­came best friends in col­lege and were mar­ried in 1969. The cou­ple moved to Liver­more, Calif., in 1973, and hathy was ac­tive in Liver­more New­com­ers, where she made many dear friends. hathy and Harry were blessed with three lovely chil­dren, Erica (John), Jessica (Paul), helly and two grand­chil­dren whom hathy adored, Caitlin and uan­der.

A me­mo­rial ser­vice was

held at Saint Michael’s Church in Liver­more on Fri­day, June 28, at 11 a.m.

Memo­ri­als may be made to the Amer­i­can Red Cross.

Mr. dreene was a landscaper and mem­ber of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in dlen­side.

In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, he is sur­vived by a sis­ter, Abby Egan of Santa Mon­ica, Calif.; a grand­mother, Betty hre­mer of Ore­land; grand­fa­ther Irv­ing dreene of drapevine, Texas; and an aunt, Roberta hre­mer of Ore­land.

A fu­neral ser­vice was held June 19 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 120 N. Eas­ton Road, dlen­side, with visi­ta­tion prior to the ser­vice. In­ter­ment was in Ar­ling­ton Ceme­tery, Drexel Hill.
