Ann’s Choice, an Erickson Living Retirement Community in Warminster, commenced its version of the Olympics with a torch relay and a festive opening ceremony last month. The Ann’s Choice Chorus opened the event with a rendition of the national anthem, followed by a welcome from Executive Director Chris Donati. Immediately following the ceremony, nine residents participated in a rubber duck race in the pool to raise money for the community’s Scholars Fund. The fund supports the educational aspirations of the young men and women who work in the community’s restaurants. The residents formed a chain in the pool with swim noodles and pushed more than 200 ducks, sponsored by residents and staff, to the other end. The first three ducks were the winners. The Olympic events include water volleyball, shuffleboard, bocce, tennis, ping pong, billiards and putting green.
