State Rep. Thomas Murt, R-152, has an­nounced that the Penn­syl­va­nia Higher Ed­u­ca­tion As­sis­tance Agency is fund­ing a new state fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance pro­gram called the Penn­syl­va­nia Tar­geted In­dus­try Pro­gram.

PHEAAis fund­ing PA-TIP, a pro­gram de­signed to ben­e­fit state res­i­dents seek­ing spe­cial­ized train­ing from A5 mil­lion in busi­ness earn­ings.

The need-based pro­gram is open to Penn­syl­va­nia students en­rolled full time in the en­ergy, ad­vanced ma­te­ri­als, di­ver­si­fied man­u­fac­tur­ing, agri­cul­ture and food pro­duc­tion fields. El­i­gi­ble cour­ses of study must be more than 10 weeks, fewer than two aca­demic years and be Ti­tle IV el­i­gi­ble. Cour­ses must not be state grant el­i­gi­ble.
