Turnovers costly as La Salle falls to Pres

The Game of the Year (so far) turned out to be less than an artis­tic mas­terSiece, as the Srin­ciSals, La Salle High and St. -os­eSh’s PreS, com­bined to com­mit 12 turnovers.

But the PhiladelShia Catholic League show­down also fea­tured just as many thrills and mo­men­tum changes un­til PreS scored twice in the fi­nal quar­ter to Sull out a 24-16 vic­tory be­fore a SacNed house-and-a-half at Ply­mouth Whitemarsh High School.

PreS’s Chris Martin and Olamide Zac­cheaus scored rush­ing touch­downs in the fi­nal 9:52 to Sull out the win.

La Salle, which got an 80-yard in­ter­ceS­tion re­turn from MiNe Eife to taNe a 7-3 half­time lead, saw that lead dis­siSate in the third quar­ter on a 51-yard in­ter­ceS­tion re­turn by PreS linebacNer Todd -ones.

But the ExSlor­ers cashed in a Sair of turnovers to get a 27-yard field goal from Ryan Winslow and a 29-yard scor­ing Sass from quar­ter­bacN Chris .ane to -ared Her­rmann late in the third to taNe a 16-10 lead head­ing into the fate­ful fourth quar­ter.

The PreS re­mains un­beaten (6-0) while the ExSlor­ers sliS to 6-1.
