Paint Night high­lights Oct. events

PRE­STON — The Com­mu­nity Club of Pre­ston will be host­ing two fundrais­ers in Oc­to­ber in­clud­ing a Paint Night planned for Fri­day, Oct. 7.

The Paint Night will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lions’ Club Build­ing at 114 Williamson Street, Pre­ston. The im­age be­ing painted is a pink rib­bon and is en­ti­tled “Hope.” The event is both a fundraiser and a way to in­crease aware­ness of breast can­cer, with in­for­ma­tion avail­able on breast can­cer and breast health ser­vices avail­able to lo­cal res­i­dents.

The cost is $45. Tick­ets may be ob­tained by call­ing, 410-310-5454, or go­ing on­line to www.tick­led-paint. net and click­ing on the Oct. 7 event date. Re­fresh­ments will be avail­able, door prizes will be awarded and a 50/50 raf­fle will be held.

To follow up on its mis­sion to pro­mote breast can­cer aware­ness, a rep­re­sen­ta­tive from the Clark Com­pre­hen­sive Breast Cen­ter in Eas­ton will give a pre­sen­ta­tion at the Com­mu­nity Club’s mem­ber­ship meet­ing on Tues­day, Oct. 18. The pub­lic is in­vited to the meet­ing, it be­gins at 1 p.m., and will be held at the Lions’ Club Build­ing.

The Com­mu­nity Club’s sec­ond Oc­to­ber fundraiser is sched­uled for Mon­day, Oct. 24, with a fundraiser day at Katie Mae’s Res­tau­rant at 201 Main Street in Pre­ston. A por­tion of the pro­ceeds from the en­tire day’s sales, both dine in and carry out, will be do­nated to the Com­mu­nity Club.

All pro­ceeds from fundrais­ers go back into the com­mu­nity by way of do­na­tions and schol­ar­ships.

Septem­ber marked the the be­gin­ning of the Com­mu­nity Club of Pre­ston’s 93rd year of ac­tiv­ity geared to­ward en­rich­ing the com­mu­nity of Pre­ston.
