Paint Night highlights Oct. events
PRESTON — The Community Club of Preston will be hosting two fundraisers in October including a Paint Night planned for Friday, Oct. 7.
The Paint Night will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lions’ Club Building at 114 Williamson Street, Preston. The image being painted is a pink ribbon and is entitled “Hope.” The event is both a fundraiser and a way to increase awareness of breast cancer, with information available on breast cancer and breast health services available to local residents.
The cost is $45. Tickets may be obtained by calling, 410-310-5454, or going online to www.tickled-paint. net and clicking on the Oct. 7 event date. Refreshments will be available, door prizes will be awarded and a 50/50 raffle will be held.
To follow up on its mission to promote breast cancer awareness, a representative from the Clark Comprehensive Breast Center in Easton will give a presentation at the Community Club’s membership meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 18. The public is invited to the meeting, it begins at 1 p.m., and will be held at the Lions’ Club Building.
The Community Club’s second October fundraiser is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 24, with a fundraiser day at Katie Mae’s Restaurant at 201 Main Street in Preston. A portion of the proceeds from the entire day’s sales, both dine in and carry out, will be donated to the Community Club.
All proceeds from fundraisers go back into the community by way of donations and scholarships.
September marked the the beginning of the Community Club of Preston’s 93rd year of activity geared toward enriching the community of Preston.
